Home invasions, break-ins, robberies, assaults, and the like tend to happen in low-light or darkness. The correct use of light (handheld flashlight and/or weapon-mounted light) is critical when defending yourself with a firearm in a low-light scenario.
In this seminar you’ll receive an overview of lights and their use in conjunction with pistols and learn about terms like lumens, candela, throw, spill, etc., and why they’re important. We also talk about and look at some options for handheld and pistol-mounted lights. Proper techniques for the use of different lighting systems is covered through instructor demonstrations and hands-on learning exercises by students using instructor’s handheld and pistol-mounted lights with dummy guns.
This is a non-shooting class–no firearms will be used. It consists of presentation, instructor demonstrations of handheld and pistol-mounted lights using dummy guns, and hands-on student exercises. All equipment is supplied by the instructor–you should bring a notebook and pen (no recording devices, please). Class is taught by Brian Bertoldo, a certified Master Firearms Instructor and Low-Light Pistol Instructor. It will be held indoors in the main hall of the clubhouse at Danvers Fish & Game Club.
