
Learn the core skills needed to defend yourself with a pistol.
What we’ll cover in this class:
-Defensive mindset, shooting to stop the threat, shot accountability
-Safe drawing, shooting, and holstering of the pistol with an OWB holster
-Proper technique to quickly and efficiently reload the pistol
-The different sight pictures in defensive pistol shooting (flash, floating, and focused)
-How to clear common malfunctions and quickly get the gun back into action
-One-handed strong-side and support-side shooting
-How to properly identify and shoot from cover
Note (PLEASE READ):
A valid Massachusetts LTC (resident or non-resident) is required.
This class is NOT an introduction to pistol shooting. Prior to taking this class, you should be very familiar with how your pistol operates AND be able to consistently achieve a 70% hit rate into a 10-inch circle at 7 yards. You will be expected to demonstrate and practice excellent gun safety. If you are new to pistols or haven’t shot in a while, please take Pistol Skill Builder.
This course requires mental focus, fine motor skills, and physical activity (short periods of rapid movement and kneeling). Please be realistic about your abilities.

Price: $215 per student (DFGC members receive a 10% discount). After submitting your registration form (below), you will be contacted regarding payment. We accept Venmo and credit cards. Do not pay until contacted with either a credit card or Venmo invoice from us. Payment is typically due within 24 hours of invoicing in order to reserve your spot in the class.
This class is held outdoors at Danvers Fish & Game Club in Middleton, MA, and both club members and non-members may register to attend.
