Class Day: Range Bag Must Haves

Here’s a quick list of things you should have in your range bag for a firearms class

-Eye & ear protection (and back-ups if you have them [recommended])
-Lens cloth
-Extra batteries for everything battery-powered (ear protection, optics, etc.)
-Charging cables and/or extra power bank for rechargeables
-Over-the-counter and prescription medications
-First aid kit (if you have a trauma kit [recommended] it should be on your person)
-Extra hat—nice to have
-Gun oil
-Common tools, especially those needed for adjusting optics
-Snacks
-More magazines than called for in the course description
-Magazine loader (loading hundreds of rounds by hand can be rough on the thumbs)
-Sanitizing hand wipes—good to have lead removing wipes as well
-Pen and pad to take notes (highly recommend)

Not necessarily “range bag” items but it’s recommended you bring a back-up gun and more ammo than asked for in the course description.

Other nice-to-haves: shooting gloves and knee pads (depending on the class)
Note: always consult the course description/equipment list to be sure you don’t miss any other crucial items for a particular class.
